Caleco Ballet Studio holds open auditions for spring performance of “Coppelia”. Auditions are for both registered and non-registered students. Artistic Directors Maria Calegari and Bart Cook are offering this opportunity to all community students to partake in their spring production of Coppelia even while attending other local schools. Students will be chosen for the production by ability and technique.
Coppelia is a delightful classical ballet that all children and parents will enjoy. Both Miss Calegari and Mr. Cook have performed in Coppelia with the New York City Ballet and Mr. Cook will be recreating his original role as Dr. Coppelius, the magical toymaker. Miss Calegari will be teaching the ballerina role of Swanhilda as she learned it from the most famous Swanhilda in ballet history, Alexandra Danilova.

WHO: Serious ballet students ages 9 and up with at least 3 years of ballet training
WHAT: Open audition for Caleco’s spring performance of Coppelia. Performance will be held at North Salem Middle School on May 20, 2012
WHEN: Audition February 4, 2012
TIMES: 3:00-3:45 ages 9-12, 4:00-4:45 ages 12 and up
Please arrive 15 minutes before your audition time at the studio and wear proper ballet attire.

Rehearsals
The rehearsals for non-Caleco students will be held on 1 Thursday, 6 Sundays from 12-4 pm and 3 Saturdays. Exact group times TBD.
